Exceed Floor & Home Wins Prestigious Display Award

CRYSTAL LAKE — Exceed Floor & Home has garnered much praise and applause for its innovative displays since opening its 40,000 sq. ft. showroom in Crystal Lake three years ago. Now, it’s officially an award-winning destination. Floor Focus magazine, one of the floor covering industry’s most respected news sources, has chosen Exceed Floor & Home as one of its 2008 Retail Display Contest award recipients. This prestigious award puts Exceed Floor & Home in a unique group of flooring retailers who are singled out by industry experts each year for their use of light, color, texture and sound in fresh, new ways to create a memorable impression and capture attention.

“Creating displays that inspire ideas and dare our customers to be ‘exceed’ingly different is a priority at Exceed,” stated Hawley Haleblian, one of Exceed Floor & Home’s Senior Designers and winner of the 1995 Metropolitan Home magazine design competition. It was Hawley’s glass tile and natural sea shell design that inspired the judges to name Exceed one of this year’s three contest winners in North America. Judges applauded the creativity of the display, especially its inspirational use of materials.

“After seeing this, you would have confidence to tackle something out of the ordinary with this retailer, and I also think it demonstrates a sense of care and attention to detail that is wholly appropriate when selling a product in this price range,” one judge remarked.

A 35-year industry expert, Exceed Floor & Home owner Haig Haleblian, Hawley’s husband, says that putting flooring and other surfaces, such as countertops and tile, in some kind of context is an absolute must for a design-oriented retailer. “Hawley adds visual impact to our displays and makes the flooring, for example, part of a design story that allows us to show the customer how a home can be transformed by new floor covering,” said Haleblian.

Behind its eye-catching displays, Exceed Floor & Home is all about quality products.
